Kyle Zavada, former music teacher at Oakland Avenue Charter School, returns to the community stage as a performer at the 26th annual Heritage Day Festival on Saturday, January 31.
Zavada, who launched the school's music program in 2017, inspired many young students before shifting to pursue his own musical career in 2025.
His early fascination with Native American instruments and guitar sparked a lifelong dedication to music and led him to tour nationally and release music with bands like Lucky To Be and About Tuesday.
Now a regular performer at venues such as Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk, Zavada finds special meaning in returning for Heritage Day, reconnecting with former students and the Oakland community.
