Junior swimmer sets new benchmark at FHSAA 4A Championships |
Windermere High School's junior sensation, Rylee Erisman, has rewritten the record books.
During the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 4A Championships on November 14, 2025, Erisman clocked an astonishing 46.73 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.
This performance eclipsed the previous national high school record of 46.98 seconds set by Gretchen Walsh in 2020.
In addition to her record-breaking 100-yard freestyle, Erisman dominated the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.67 seconds.
She also anchored the 200-yard medley relay team to a state record time of 1:38.96 and led the 400-yard freestyle relay to victory in 3:19.16.
These stellar performances contributed to Windermere High's runner-up finish at the state meet, amassing 305 points behind Sarasota Riverview's 395.
Despite her junior status, Erisman has already taken official visits to top collegiate programs, including Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, Cal, and Virginia.
Her college commitment remains eagerly anticipated.
Beyond high school competitions, Erisman showcased her prowess on the international stage.
At the 2025 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Romania, she secured eight medals—five golds and three silvers—the highest medal count of any swimmer at the event.
Her achievements included setting a world junior record in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay with a time of 3:35.53.
As Erisman continues to break barriers, the swimming community eagerly watches her journey, anticipating further records and accolades in her promising career. |
