Tragic Murder-Suicide Shakes Winter Garden Community

On Saturday, November 1, the Winter Garden community was deeply shaken by a tragic murder-suicide at 16569 Broadwater Avenue.

The incident claimed the lives of Carissa Raquel Fleegle, 52, and her husband, Gary Robert Fleegle, 55.

Authorities discovered both individuals in their home around 11:42 a.m.

Gary Fleegle was a respected CEO from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, serving as the President of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining.

Their son, Bobby Fleegle, expressed his grief on social media, stating, "This tragedy that has rocked our world is not something easy to comprehend or explain. But I will say that in the time where darkness is at an all-time high, my mother’s light is still proving to radiate and shine through."

A memorial service honoring Carissa Fleegle is scheduled for November 12 in Johnstown.

In support of the Fleegle family, a Meal Train has been organized, seeking assistance with groceries, fast food, and gift card donations.

As of now, $13,025 has been raised towards the $15,000 goal.

Community members are encouraged to contribute to help the family during this difficult time.
